Talladega Speedway
The Talladega Superspeedway attracts approximately 180,000 people twice a year. Some race fans usually start showing up a week before the race with the majority arriving on race weekend. Dubbed "The World's Fastest Speedway", this track is truly the largest, fastest, and most competitive speedway in racing history.
The Talladega Superspeedway is able to seat approximatly 160,000 people in the stands and literally thousands more in the 215 acre infield. The 30th annual Winston 500 is the weekend of October 9th. The track is open daily for tours except during race events and testing. The tour includes a ride around the track. The International Motorsports Hall of Fame is located next to the superspeedway, which holds several hours of browsing of racing history within its doors.
The superspeedway is located about 4 minutes from I-20. Take the Talladega/ Lincoln Exit 168 off of I-20, then go south on Highway 77 for less than one mile. Turn left onto Speedway Boulevard. The track and The International Motorsports Hall of Fame will be on the right three miles down Speedway Boulavard.
